  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     The real problem with the typical dept store scopes is the lack of truth! They are long f10 or more, which means 10 - whatever times the diameter of the lens. This makes for a very narrow field of view, under 1.5 degrees is typical. The eyepieces are usually Kellner designs, ie Simple 2 lenses...

    It is a SkyShed Pod which Wayne Parker has been producing for a few years now. Inside I have a Sky Watcher 120ED on EQ6 Pro mount sitting on a concrete pier. I am currently working on making a new structure for my 13' Zambuto mirror.

    Specialty solder/braze materials. Usually stuff that has Bismuth, Germanium or other exotic expensive metals in the alloy.

    The last two days I have been changing out the chocks and rolls for properly designed version. The original was set up for grease and they were converted to recirculating oil. The oil was not moving all around and this caused poor seal life. The rolls are heated to 538F and occasionally 640F...

    Question for those with multi-extruder printers

    I have not printed in multi colour yet with my Prusa XL. I have printed PLA and PETG, both in black. No real issues with stringing. I do have PLA in white and black to make bicoloured parts, just have done so. Pierre
