The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. Other Shop footwear - what's on your feet?

Often there are discussions about different types of flooring in a home workshop but seldom do I read discussions about footwear. Footwear was very important when I was working as an electrician and I think it is just as important when I'm in the shop at home. My "back and forth" shoes are for...

    Shop Flooring Materials

For a basement my only concern about using those interlocking rubber mats over a large area is the possibility of moisture getting trapped beneath and the development of mold.

    Peavey Mart Closing

I think that's part of the reason. On the other hand it was a store that sold a little of everything. Maybe they would've done better in a small town but in larger cities I don't see how they could be competitive. Even without Amazon I would have likely gone somewhere else first for tools...

Made in/shop in Canada options - Links or recommendations only!

Never heard of them until now. Looking at their website they remind of another Canadian company: Uline https://www.uline.ca/Corporate/About_Company When I was in my last supervisor job I ordered a fair bit of product from Uline. The cool part was you could select a "free" gift of which $...

    Peavey Mart Closing

I suspect there will be sales and when the day comes the "resale vultures" will be camped out front prior to doors opening. Hopefully they will have limits on number of items per person.

    CA-ON Decent Drill Bits?

I recently picked up... Mastercraft Silver & Deming Black Oxide Drill Bit Set for Wood, Metal, Plastic, 8-pc #054-0281-2 At 55% off the regular price seemed like a good buy for HSS. I will try not to abuse them (cutting fluid, proper speed for the material, etc.) and hopefully they will last.
