    Uber, we have a problem

That's all very true. I don't have an Uber account so I don't keep track of their history but my son reminded me that they have been hacked before. So I think people who have accounts should be watching. For what it's worth, an opinion of Uber's past security issues...

    Uber, we have a problem

@TorontoBuilder It was my daughter's Uber account not my grandmother's.(: Seriously though, anything is possible, people make silly mistakes. But after a couple close calls when the kids were young and numerous discussions later about online scams I would hope they wouldn't make those kinds...

    Uber, we have a problem

My daughter's Uber Ride account, which she has never used, was recently charged for 2 rides in a province she doesn't live in and has never visited. While speaking to the rep from the Fraud Dept. at Scotia Bank she asked how many calls he receives for similar incidents regarding Uber Ride? He...

Workplace Safety at work and in the home shop

@StevSmar That picture of the Milwaukee portable bandsaw reminds of the first time I used one. The foreman for the main contractor at one of the jobs I was a sub at was watching me install threaded rod into the ceiling that would be used to support unistrut. I was going to take it down...

Workplace Safety at work and in the home shop

Yes, putting one's health at risk to avoid inconveniencing others doesn't make sense when there is options. I know 2 electricians who got caught working on 347V lighting. Both were very lucky to get away without serious injury. While replacing a ballast with the power "on" this guy had his...

Workplace Safety at work and in the home shop

One of my jobs was a maintenance electrician at a hospital. A common task was replacing lighting ballasts. The newer part of the building was all 347V. I was shown to replace the ballast live because shutting off a breaker could take down 30 light fixtures affecting a number of areas. Never...

Workplace Safety at work and in the home shop

Here's the maintenance instructions on my shop extinguisher: "Hydrostatic retest to 4033 kpa (585psi) every 12 years." I think it depends on the type of extinguisher.

    Tool Lathe files

Never ordered from this store but they have the same model VS513 for $42.90/file (3 pack from Staples would be $61/file): https://www.tenaquip.com/product/nicholson-by-crescent-long-angle-lathe-files-fine-07863n-vs513?srsltid=AfmBOoqO-xTHLjtmzkJIbzUYhr76CoA822WP1Romj5nyzee1AlRR9eeJ It's...
