  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    Xyphota's bicycle related projects

I made a fork! I wasted probably 6 hours this weekend trying to get a mitering setup for the fork blades to work. I was thinking I could miter them simultaneously like I did with the chainstays and seatstays so I wouldn't have to measure any angles, but I could not get my mitering jig to hold...

    Machine Machine moving

That machine looks quite a bit more stout than a bridgeport which is 2500 lbs, this is probably 3-4000lbs? If you can find a copy of the manual, all machinery manuals should have lifting and installation instructions. This is how bridgeport moves their mills: And they lift it via slings under...

    ML7 Lathe

Wow good work! Are those the original belts? It looks like it took some serious effort to pull that belt tensioning lever forward. I'm not sure if its just the belts are tight/short on your lathe or if that pivot is seized, but on my previous ML7 and my now ML7R, that lever was never that...

    Lathe sine bar

Maybe one of the following? 1. If you trust your tailstock, you could use the extended barrel of the tail stock and butt up against that 2.Turn a bar between centers and butt up against that?

    Tips/Techniques Power draw bar

I bought this power drawbar off ebay and it has worked really well. I had to machine some custom standoffs for it as the ones included didn’t work very well and were poorly made...

8" precision milling rotary table/6" milling vise, $550/$300, Calgary, AB

Is there much difference in the off shore tables? An 8" table from vevor is only $330 https://www.vevor.ca/rotary-table-c_10128/rotary-table-hv8-horizontal-vertical-precision-3mt-milling-drilling-machine-p_010843450715

    Lathe VFD?

I just purchased two vfds from AutomationDirect (one for my shaper, one for my lathe). Free shipping and they are acting as a broker so theoretically there shouldn't be any duties to pay for when Fedex delivers them.
