    BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

The same manual came with my PM-1224T lathe. You might want to download Precision Matthews manual for the PM-1236T, it has some additional information over the Liang Dei one. (My PM-1224T was a special order with a 24” bed. The 36” bed would have been lovely but would have also taken up...

    BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

Liang Dei makes the Precision Matthews Taiwanese lathes, it looks just like my PM-1224T. I wonder if there are any differences. The head on your’s looks exactly like the head on my lathe.

    An engine every 11 seconds

That was a great video. I’ve never seen deposition on Aluminium blocks to make the cylinders. Interesting the maintenance they need to do to keep their injection moulds for the crankcase accurate. I sure would hate being one of the humans that gets to install the same widget day in/day out.

I use non-steel toe elastic sided AirWalk Dr Martins with insoles. Since I get sore feet if I’m walking on concrete too long. I have a nice pair of steel toe blundstones which are likely destined to become my workshop boots when I retire. Oooh, I do like those. Getting my elastic sided boots...

My work around is to partially cut the surface with my bandsaw, and then add oil cutting...

Workplace Safety at work and in the home shop

Perhaps we should have a separate thread “Why Women live longer than Men” I present exhibit A: Of course it could just be that Men tend to do dangerous shit, whereas women tend to watch men doing dangerous things after calling the life insurance company to confirm the policy is still current…...

Workplace Safety at work and in the home shop

My close calls in the shop have as their root cause been due to: - complacency. - rushing. - working while tired.

Workplace Safety at work and in the home shop

Makes me wonder if the disconnect had been sized to the appropriate fault level. Even that doesn’t mean that it’s not going to explode- just that the explosion will not rupture the enclosure. Glad your sixth sense saved you!!!

I want to make up something in my mill, but….

I like your attitude! Today I got to make a temporary stand and did several vertical welds that looked pretty good once I took my glasses off. Ah yes, the 12 step program that my wife keeps on recommending for me...

I was wanting to make something on my Mill, but before that I need to: Install the DRO. Install the Power Feed. Install the vice. Assemble the Mill. Put the Mill stand in its permanent place. Disassembly the temporary Mill stand construction stand. Lift the Mill stand off the temporary...
