  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

My Liang-Dai clone is single phase which I’d heard wouldn’t change direction if I switched it before it stopped. So I tried that and sure enough it didn’t change direction if I was too quick.

Machine Not sure I need a drill press anymore

Because the splayed legs always make it a pain to lift larger items. I’ve modified the shop crane for parallel legs. If it works I’ll post pictures.

Machine Not sure I need a drill press anymore

Also keep in mind a drill press can be your partner in crime for sketchy shit: Kinda like a third hand that doesn’t tell your wife what you’ve been up to.

    New guy

Welcome from a currently sunny but frigid Winnipeg. You’ll find this forum will often set records for how often threads go off topic- LOL. All part of the fun.

Machine Not sure I need a drill press anymore

    Gerstner Tool Chests

Your charcuterie boards are beautiful, the Birds Eye maple would have looked fantastic on your tool chest though.

Oldler ultra light plane 1000$ - caribou BC

That’s going to be the only way I get back into flying I think, though I strongly suspect my flying days are behind me- I’d rather buy books and tools…

Huge list of unfinished projects for the new year

I’ve been thinking about making myself a new woodworking workbench. One change you may want to consider is having an empty space below your top so that when things fall down through the dog holes they’re easier to find. Plus that gives you a space to put your “ tools currently in use” rather...

    Gerstner Tool Chests

Your design looks fantastic! Well done. Birds Eye Maple would really stand out if you end up using that. Have you thought of asking Fusion how much it will weigh? I should have done that on my mill stand… the metal carcass is 100kg and I’ve got a feeling the Baltic birch plywood and hardwood...

    BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

Apparently our lathes require two belts to comfortably switch between the low speed and high speed pulley (According to posts on the hobby machinist forum): Gates Tri-Power BX-24 and BX-25 I’m still running on the original belt though.
