Shop Potential modification of Shop Crane for parallel feet

Now that the stand for my Mill is completed, my next issue is how the splayed feet on the typical shop crane often makes it difficult to lift things. This was a pain when I was moving my lathe, now it's become more of a pain. I haven't decided if I'll actually modify my shop crane as my next...

Machine StevSmar's PM-833TV Mill and Stand

Time for an update after passing a milestone. The stand is finished, finished, done 99.9%. I don’t get any joy out of making ugly things, so I decided to add a couple of decorative touches to the stand: I enjoyed the inlay work, probably took about 20 hours to do. What I didn’t enjoy was the...

A Smile Daily notes on mechanical handwork

Nice welding cart you’ve made! I suspect a lot of us are like that, we call them wives… Although I currently still have the associated interference of having to go to work. Double interference for me at the moment-LOL.

Wood tool chest finish-boiled linseed oil?

Stefan Gotteswinter had a video where he said (paraphrased) “People say that wooden drawers cause tools that directly sit on them to rust, but I’ve never had that problem because I finish my drawers with ??? Oil… (some sort of oil, it was probably Linseed Oil) I’ll be able to let you know in a...

Hobby machine shop for sale( WILL NOT SEPARATE), $27,999, Norfolk County, ON

Well hopefully they are not successful, it seems all resellers do is increase the price. There are lots of advertisements in Model Engineer for buying complete workshops in the UK, and I wonder what their multiplier is on the purchased price.
