No also my day job involves working at a university... I have also done work for others as a freelancer(with inventor and AutoCAD) before and they don't really care what you use as long as they get what they want/paid for but I would agree with you on the commercial aspects of software it does...

I was actually looking at it and saying the same thing, but between mine and a few others headstocks that i have seen inside they don't carry that oil scraper. also there is nothing like that in the parts list. again I'm not sure what you are on about here, the simulation change is what prompted me to look more into FreeCAD, as a result of this change affecting me (I use others, both ANSYS discovery live and ANSYS workbench, Xfoil and I am learning how to use MatLab/Octave, those are more involved in...

yup this is something ill have to look into, in the shop this machine was at they normally use the smaller lathes exclusively for threading, so with the threading sections of this machine properly kaput, they might not have used it that much (fingers crossed). even with that said though this...

Should I wash the grease out of Myford ML7R headstock bearings?

from what I understand oil is superior to grease in this respect because grease will hold metal chips and dust in 'suspension' acting more like an abrasive than a lubricant. This is also why non detergent oils are used on lathes, that is from my understanding so someone could correct me if I'm...
