    help making small hinges

I thought of that but how do you hold it to machine it to thickness? If you put the screws in first you would machine off the heads bringing it down to thickness.

    Proper mill cutter and technique

I guess my big question would be if using say the longest strap clamp (please correct me if that is the wrong name) in the set and a work piece and the notched packing block positioned as far apart as possible from the T slot. So basically the worst case set up you can manage with a regular...

    help making small hinges

The pin turns inside the center piece. Instead of a press fit and having to deal with 2 different sized holes I was just going to put a tiny bit of loctite as i slide in the last little bit of rod. The reamer I have is standard size that is why I was wondering about the tolerance of 303...

    Tool Caliper with broken screw

These are what I have. The 4 on the cutting board are names I don't recognize and cant really make out. the left 2 are missing pieces. The 7 in the middle are starrett and the one on its own is Brown and sharpe. This starrett one is the only one with a diameter close to what you have...

    help making small hinges

Ok so small update and more question. I got a hold of a box I made my parents with the same hinges. Near as I can tell, using a magnifying glass to line up the caliper tips, the pin diameter is 3/32". I am in luck there as I own a set of accusize reamers from 1/16" - 1/2" and it had 3/32". My...

I will go measure and see if any are that size. I have a small collection.

    Proper mill cutter and technique

Thanks for the info this is fascinating to me and brings up many questions that I sure have been previously talked about. Am I correct in assuming that the best ideal placement is to have clamp perpendicular to the T slot with the edge of the work piece right up to the edge of the T slot and the...

    Tool Caliper with broken screw

Do you intend on reusing the nut or making a new one? I have a pair of dividers that are missing an arched peace that goes between the 2 legs if you find you like repairing these. I think I have a pair of hermaphrodite calipers that is missing a piece also. should I sent them your way?

    Gerstner Tool Chests

I noticed plans seem to be hard to come buy also. I have never seen one of these in person so I am finding it difficult to figure out a good size for the drawers. I am thinking of not doing the front panel that is common on them for closing them up. My reasoning is that it is for my shop at home...
