  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. Carbide insert question

In general terms smaller less powerful lathes work better with inserts that have a positive rake. Carbide works better at higher spindle speeds so older lathes may not have the speeds to get the best performance from carbide. My lathe came with 80 degree rhombic, positive rake tooling so I have...

    Gas welding kit advice?

Here's my set up. Gas saver means you don't have to turn off and relight every time you need to lay down the torch. Torch is a very old Victor J series. The smallest they make. Tips. Acetylene on the left propane on the right Seivert sparker. Just tap with torch to relight. Torch...

    Gas welding kit advice?

I went back to gas welding. I found a Victor J series torch (small) on Market Place with a full set of acetylene tips. The previous owner used it to braze microwave radio wave guide and only ever used one tip. I have a cart with O2, propane and a B tank of acetylene. I have quick connects on...

Help with a component in my CNC enclosure

I keep them for my better efforts in the mill, lathe and drill press. I kept my old Busy Bee sets for rough work and hand drills. I think they...

    Ducdon Gone.

The Sport Classic was sold awhile back as was the S4RS Monster. All I have left is a 1972 Kawasaki H1 project bike that I had hoped to ride when it's finished.

    Overspray Removal

My thought would be to remove the lid, sand it smooth, then repaint with a hammer tone finish, the best match you can find?

The part that hurts is that I didn't get to make the choice. Here in AB at 80 you need a Doctor's report. I was a bit blindsided. SO, that was then and this is now. I still have lots of projects and other things to do. Hey, more shop time!
