4140 crankshaft modifications - propeller hub build

Nope, not the icing one, I remember that one. I should have a copy of the AD here, I had to comply with it on a C85 I have. The original elbow going into the front of the case bent down at 90*, the AD required replacement of the elbow with a longer internal length and an upward orientation...

She's a real sweetheart and smart as all get out. No hunting but she tracks and is good at retrieving. She waits and will stop on command. With moving targets (balls) she breaks right when she's got it and left the rare time she misses. Opens doors, gets four different types of footwear, picks...

4140 crankshaft modifications - propeller hub build

It says it is appropriate for marine propeller shaft and 4400 fpm. With some totally unreliable advanced mathematics (only half a cup in yet) a 2" shaft would be well within that limit. However a marine shaft is not under any significant pressure as possibly compared to your crankcase. Also in...

Can you take that flange off without dismantling the engine ? If you could, what about making a round seal holder with a flange with say 8 small screws or bolts that you attach to the front of the block, slop some RTV under it. There is probably a seal available, hydraulics shop, or...
