    Ditron DRO Sale on Ali

When you buy scales just tell them what the (measured) end to end travel of your machine is and Ditron will figure out the finished length of the scale assembly. This works. I did 5 glass scales this way between my lathe and mill and favoured glass over mag. I did do two mag tape customs for...

South Bend 10K Horizontal Drive Bushings Replacement

Oh, wow! Nope, nothing like that just a couple of left front wheel bearings from the other half’s Audi. Last going off it was front end bushings, nothing worth saving. Come to think of it, most of my “special service tools” are from fixing that thing….. D

Already $972. It’s a Super 7 with a quick change gearbox but not new enough to have the power cross slide. One chuck, 4 way tool post and a keyless chuck but no sign of other accessories. Casters off something else. Would be a good quality entry tool. I already have my S7 but it’s almost...

South Bend 10K Horizontal Drive Bushings Replacement

What a coincidence! Right now I’m putting aside making a tool to use on a tool in order to design another tool to work on a tool! Does that make me a tool too? The sage one has inquired in the past whether I use my tools to make things other than tools…..but this time last week...

CA-AB It pays to shop around.

For some things I’ve found them expensive but they’re my go to for fasteners that aren’t hardware store off the shelf and a few other odd tools or supplies like ear plugs. For fasteners they usually beat McMaster for less common things and we won’t talk about other fastener suppliers. Easy to...

    Whelp, there goes the neighborhood.

East peasy! Just write down the options, pin them up on the lucky decision maker behind the drill press and have your better half throw the dart! Takes all the effort out of the decision. ;) Bonus, you get to spend some quality time in the shop with your better half. D
