  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. I could be wrong but I would expect the tool holders to be fairly hard. With that and not wanting to sink a bunch of time in experimenting with mods it wouldn’t be worth the trouble for me if I could just order an off the shelf from Shars. Actually the only reason I hadn’t ordered from Shars...

@PeterT We are talking about the fit of two inserts sold under the SAME part number IAW the ISO part number code chart you posted above. That’s what caught me on the Accusize tool I bought and subsequently returned. Thing is, the geometry, while apparently (claimed) meeting the parameters of...

Hi Sus I don't want to get in the middle of your discussion with Yuri about scales, the details are above my head but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention This Thread (31 Oct.) where Yuri says: Short version - Unless you absolutely must, don't use magnetic scales. Accuracy per dollar is...

I’m not 100% sure but it looks to me that there’s no step on the cutting surface of your Accusize insert. See the photo in @Susquatch ‘s post 15, it shows the step. I think sus’s insert is a larger size but the shape is the same. I have some of those on my larger face mill. I wonder if the...

I think they were selling the commonly available config. and changed at some point, maybe they got a better deal from their supplier? If they’ve changed back because of customer feedback (ref. what looks like pockets in @kstrauss ’s photo) then that might be an explanation rather than trying to...

The problem is that not all “APKT11T3” inserts are the same. The commonly available inserts you refer to would not fit on the Accusize tool. The photos showed (still show) the commonly available inserts BUT the inserts that came with it were not the same as in the photo, that’s why it went...

Just noticed this thread. I bought one of these and sent it back because the Accusize APKT inserts only fit Accusize tools. I already had the “same” tool from Shars and thought the Accusize and Shars (and typical far east) APKT inserts would interchange - no dice so I sent it back. Accusize...
