    Plasma cutter for under $300!!

I was thinking about the plasma cutters you guys will be receiving shortly. Your evaluations will be interesting. As I previously said, at $211 (or even at the non-coupon full price of $300) that is an awesomely cheap price for a new 40 amp cutter! I intend no sarcasm or criticism - but I think...

Tools you waited too long to acquire

I do use them but very carefully. All crimp connections are closely inspected. I do prefer a soldered connection with a quality adhesive shrink tube. Yesterday I received the crimpers I mentioned above. They seem very good and solid. I have confidence that they will give a good and consistent...

    Another new guy

That would be appreciated and interesting even to members who don't intend to build one. So start with some pictures and a description when you get around to it. Questions are sure to follow. PS1: One of the better YouTubers, Clough42, did a detailed vid of his 2x72 grinder build - see it here...

    Tips/Techniques Dimensioning and tolerancing

This rather dates me - but I took drafting and was required to be proficient with a slide rule. Oh yeah - also learned descriptive geometry and how to use log tables.

Tools you waited too long to acquire

Good point. Thanks. I agree. Sorta. But I think that with care these knock-off tools will be just fine especially for a non-professional DIYer. Also, IMO, a premium, best available and most expensive tool will preform poorly if not used correctly - they may be just a little more forgiving. I...

Tool Cheap alternatives to expensive tools thread

My friend was an expert in his field - When he was asked by a lawyer (who was at the time comparing him to another witness during a trial) "Why are you considered an expert?" his response was "Because I've made more mistakes than the other guy". He also said (about the value of learning and...

Tools you waited too long to acquire

Darn you guys - that's another tool that went from "Oh, I've seen one of those before" to "Oh goodie, a new tool on my MUST HAVE list". I sorta ordered one today. It's not the brand name Klein, but a no-name knock-off that Amazon markets as its own. I've bought a few other Amazon-branded items...

    Another new guy

Welcome to the Forum - enjoy the ride. Great group. You mentioned your belt grinder. I have been thinking about getting one. The King Canada 2x42" looks good, but I'd like to see your 2x72" project. It sounds interesting. Do you have some pictures?
