  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. While looking at the "Buy Canadian" thread in the "off-topic discussions" section - I noticed @quitereal suggested a Kent fume extractor MIG gun. - Does anyone have experience with Kent? (and this gun?) - Does anyone have experience with any fume extractor MIG gun? - I see Tweco has one called...

Tool Kijiji annular cutters+ KMS sales flyer deal

Alternate thread title: Are made-in-USA Slugger annular cutters better than Chinese ProPoint? (Jancy Slugger by Fein, USA) I chased down a Kijiji seller's poorly worded ad for Slugger annular cutters. No asking price was given; it was just "make an offer." Since it was a two-hour drive, I...

    Something off with Vevor

Thanks, good to know it was well-packaged. Are you happy with the magdrill? I was thinking about the 1550W, 2" dia, 12800N model. I have annular cutters so no need to buy a package with cutters.

    Something off with Vevor

I bought a 6x12" magnetic chuck directly from Vevor. It had a damaged corner and a couple of scratches. I complained and they quickly offered me a credit = to 5% of the purchase price. The functionality of the chuck was fine, the damage was cosmetic but that was not what I paid for. Lots of...

    Myford ML7 $2300 VIctoria

Looks really nice and likely worth the ask - too bad it's not a Super7 with a QCGB - but then the price would jump.

When the machining doesn't go according to plan...

I took a course called Technical Drawings. It was really 'drafting 101' but technical drawings sounded better. I do detailed drawings for most of my projects. They help me visualize my end goal and also it's where I make most of my modifications. If tested, I'm sure most of my welds would fail...

    Cheap small parts storage

They are a great way to organize and store fasteners. Mine are tack welded to the adjacent cabinet and the tool box that sits on top of them. I have one extra unit that is on my to-do list to incorporate elsewhere.

Other Canadiana - Last Minute (St. Catharines) test indicator

I have several items from AVRO. My uncle and a cousin worked there till that *%#¥>€ Diefenbaker scrapped the Arrow and shut down AVRO. One of Canada’s biggest blunders. That was even worse than the €#%*^£~ E Eves giving away the 407. Anyway- my dad often went to auctions back when auctions...
