Looking for British BA tap/die set, BA 0-10.

No leads on a decent set, but I have some duplicate taps that will likely never see use. Six 10-BA Thread Well brand taps, made in USA, four 2-BA taps and 3 0-BA taps, those two sizes with a logo with three overlapping triangles, which I don’t recognize. If shipping’s not stupid, happy to...

    Bridgeport Scribe-Master, $150, Innisfil, ON

I’m not sure it’s a deal, but I’m intrigued. (Though not $150 and a two hour round trip intrigued) https://www.kijiji.ca/v-other-business-industrial/barrie/milling-machine-parts/1709200918 Has anyone here seen one of these in the flesh? Used one? It looks like a stylus on a beam, with...

    Elliott Sturishape Shaper

I’m always a bit stumped to see machines that have been listed by the owner for months turn up listed by a dealer. The machine clearly didn’t sell at the original price. How likely is it to sell with an additional broker’s fee in the price? Maybe if the owner is willing to let it go for a...

    Mercury

The only person I know of who's done amalgam gilding in the last few decades is a South African/British guy, Ford Hallam. He focused on traditional Japanese metalwork, as far as I know just sword fittings (guards, etc.). He passed away last year, unfortunately. If anyone's interested, there's a...

    Mercury

I’ve run into a few antique light fixtures (usually 19c. French) through work that I’m pretty certain were amalgam plated. Mix the mercury and gold, smear the paste that results onto a surface, boil off the mercury. Gives a really fantastic finish, looks like solid gold, nothing like electroplating.

    Pullmax P2 P3/790, $2500, Cambridge, ON

https://www.facebook.com/share/15Z6ukvYbM/ I don't think the other Pullmax I posted got any traction, but... come on... $2500... (In fairness, this could be the ugly cousin of the Pullmax family, for all I know)

Various Metal Stock Sale-Clearing Everything!! Etobicoke, ON

Yes. I think, unfortunately, this will be an issue his widow/kids end up dealing with. (If I had to guess, he’s in his early 80’s) In person, he warmed up after a bit, and I spent probably 45 minutes to an hour chatting with him and his wife. He was quite proud of the work he was able to get...

Various Metal Stock Sale-Clearing Everything!! Etobicoke, ON

Years. I bought some stuff (rifflers, mirror image number and letter punches, etc.) from him during the pandemic. Interesting older (I think) Yugoslavian guy. He had an Okuma LK for sale that was being loaded when I showed up. I’d looked at the ad for that dozens of times, but suspected we’d...
