    Klopp Shaper Update

Got it. I was wondering what those were called now. That is what I am going to use for the connections. Thanks for the clarification. I thought I was old school too!

    Klopp Shaper Update

Marette is a brand name for a manufacturer of wire nuts. We use the names interchangeably, kind of like Kleenex.

    Klopp Shaper Update

It is right around 5000lb with the vise and all the tooling that came with it. No problem to bring it down on the trailer. Had to get my neighbour to give me a hand with his forklift to get it off the dump trailer. I was just going o slide it off but it was so heavy it was dragging my tractor...

    Klopp Shaper Update

Thought I would update my experie ces with the Klopp shaper I picked up at auction. Went to Yorkton, loaded up the shaper and brought it back to Regina. It is is in pretty good condition considering its age. Spent two days cleaning the filth and corruption from several decades off the shaper. A...

    regarding Canaweld welders

I bought a Canaweld plasma cutter. It is for sure made in Canada. Now that being said, is every part made in Canada or is it just assembled here? I can’t say for sure. What I do know is that it works very well. It replaced a POS Miller plasma cutter that a repair would have cost more than a new...

    Edmonton Machine Shop Auction

Lots of nice stuff there. Just a couple of issues to anyone wishing to buy. It is conducted in U.S. dollars and there is an 18% buyer premium. Also GST. I looked at the manual mill and there is a rigging fee of $580 US. Kind of makes for an expensive purchase. I suppose there is a business...

    lathes and mill in Saskatoon

No mill has sold for less than $5000 at an auction in SK for a long time. That is a pretty stout cost for a 40 year old mill. I quit bidding long before it got anywhere near that. Good thing it didn't go for what I was bidding. I still have to get my shaper running first.

    Baldor Grinder

I have been looking for a decent 1hp grinder for a while. Check Kijiji on a whim for all of SK. What do I find? A Baldor 1220W on a pedestal stand. it even has the Baldor dust collection system that actually works. There were a couple broken bolts in the cover castings that had to be extracted...

For the mill hunters out there

Looks like it was stored in an unheated shop for 20 years. Hardly used, but also hardly maintained. Still it is kind of tempting. Take a bit of work to get it into running condition. I hope the knee isn’t seized to the column. That price though...
