  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Are wives (or husbands...) that bad?

My wife is the best! She is extremely supportive and even helps move machines when she can. She loves that our son has taken an interest to it. It's awesome that she grew up with machine tools as her dad and now brother owns a cnc machine shop....

    I'm a mill beginner

Welcome to the club!!! You will have hours of fun making things! In terms of tooling, buy what you need when you need it. Many years ago when I got into this, I bought all kinds of cool tooling that I thought I would need that just sat in the box. Granted, I did end up using them but could...

Another "Thinking about acquiring a mill" thread

Congratulations!!! I will be going though a similar process hopefully within the next 4 weeks. Considering the XC600 with a belt conversion, but the PM PM-25 might be a better option when its all said and done. Further, I will also have to disassemble the machine to bring it down to my...

Good Morning Guys, Many Thanks for the replies... I did manage to find a belt drive conversion kit that looks like it would fit the cx600: https://www.automationtechnologiesinc.com/products-page/g0704-bf20-pm25mv-x2-x3-kit/g0704-belt-drive-conversion-kit or this - looks to be same...

    New Mill Advice

Hey Guys, I spent the better half of today reading all of the post about mid-sized bench top milling machines. I want to upgrade my tiny cx605 to either the cx600 or cx601. My primary concern is the plastic gears in the 601\600. I have been reading about horror stories from some owners and...
