  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. older Millermatic 130 auto arc

I don't think that most furnace controllers that have current based flame sensors have thermocouples. They both serve the same purpose - sensing the flame and shutting down the gas if there is no flame. Thermocouples are usually used in pilot-light based systems where the thermocouple makes sure...

    older Millermatic 130 auto arc

Is there any error code now? Obviously you know how to read the flashing LED to get error code #2.? Did you re-solder all of the pins? If one has cracked, there may be others that are not as obvious. Like the slightly out of focus one down and left of the obviously bad one in your picture also...

    older Millermatic 130 auto arc

Nice find. I've helped fix a couple of welders in the last couple of years. The fix was usually something pretty easy on the main board. The welding shops only know how to replace a whole board - even is the problem isn't the board. If the board is not available (common for Chinese gear, or...

To Anyone that buys from ENCO in US..

to In reference to the CC, they can tell what bank it is from, but most companies do not actively look. They just hand it to the processing company with the number and how many US$. The first 6 digits of any banking or credit card identify the issuing bank. Wikipedia explains the numbering...

To Anyone that buys from ENCO in US..

I ordered from them in June (25% off plus free shipping). I had it delivered to a motel in Oregon where I had a reservation and paid with a MasterCard (it is a US$ MC with a Canadian bank, but they don't know that) with no problem. I have ordered from them in the past and had it shipped to...

    My "New" Lathe

I just came in from the workshop after finishing the DRO install on the lathe. Here is what it looked like today. It's getting close! As usual, the story starts a while ago (early May) ago when I started on the DRO install. I bought DRO's for both my lathe and mill about four years ago. I...

    My "New" Lathe

I haven't posted an update in a while. Back when the weather was good, I was off riding the motorcycle a lot. This is another catch-up post showing some work I did earlier this spring. One of the sub-projects I worked on along the way was the switches driven by the carriage mounted fwd-off-rev...

    Force mill drill md30b repair

Peter, that mill lists both a start and run capacitor for the motor in the parts list. The schematic you attached shows the start capacitor as 150uF, which is the same as mine. Start capacitors drop out of the circuit once the motor has started. The run capacitor is always in the circuit and is...

    Force mill drill md30b repair

Mine is the same basic mill-drill, but probably a bit newer - it is cream-ish colored, not green. I got is a bot a year before HOT closed. The motor has the same basic ratings, but looks physically a bit different. My motor nameplate faces the back of the mill which is up against a window. That...

    Force mill drill md30b repair

I think I have the same machine. I took the cover off my motor cap this afternoon. Here is a picture of it: The mill has a 2HP 1PH 220V motor (using the usual Chinese rating systems). So, 150uF with a suitable voltage (minimum 220V AC 300V peak, but higher is better). The capacitance of the...
