  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. 12 x 36 lathe vibration

I would go ahead and replace the belts, they often are not the best quality from the factory and very in width. Then I would start checking everything for run out starting with the motor pulley.

@trevj Thanks again, you make a good argument for a Super 7. The Triumph I have really doesn’t go fast enough for carbide/small parts so the reason for looking at another lathe. I need to first reorganize my shop this summer and move the machines around. I know about the British Bug, we have...

    Mystery lathe, for real

I made my own Colchester wiper set from the heavy felt from Lee Valley. I like that they deposit a slight film of way oil as you work. Screw nuts will be a challenge for sure!

Thanks, I am in Ontario, so easy pickings around here for Myfords. Since getting a big lathe, I kinda wish I had a smaller one again as a second machine. I am sure something will come along.

I agree, it ends up costing way more in the long run not having accessories. Just kicking tires at the moment, see what comes along save up some money in the meantime.
