Another area to check is the buttons on top of the headstock which are prone to breakage though they can be glued together again or 3d printed. Also check that the shifting forks in the headstock work properly.
They are pretty handy, especially for splines or weird shaped holes with addition of a rotary table. The knee appears to have been fabbed. Is it a franken slotter what with the mismatched base and drive train?
