    Granite base CNC router project

    I have found Turtle wax from Canadian Tire to work incredibly well as mold release with both epoxy and UHPC concrete. I had no issues casting directly off a granite straight edge.

    Tool changer option

    They're using the spindle as an impact driver. The concept is fairly reasonable in that regard. Rego-fix does publish torque specs for ER collets with various tool sizes. If you dig into it, you will find that with 2 hits (the default) you are getting the torque spec for ~4mm tooling...

    Looking at other CNC router options.... what do you have?

    If you have the budget and space, the Sienci Altmill is basically a full size PrintNC in a box. Big step forward for hobby routers.
