    Lathe bed protector..

Never had a problem with that, but if the canvas was rolled underneath the roller, instead of over the top I think you would. Unfortunately, rolling the canvas over the top of the roller you lose a bit of work swing, but if it gets in the way, just roll it up. There are tiny little bits that...

    Lathe bed protector..

Here's a pic of the bearing assembly. A plain bearing would do, I just used the lawn mower bearings because the filled up the large hole in the end of the PVC pipe.

    Lathe bed protector..

A very good reason, I'm just plain azy and forgetful! I'll take a pic of the bearing assembly, from memory, I think they are just a couple of slow speed bearings from a lawn mower.

Cooling is one thing, flood cooling is another. I just have two nozzles with adjustabe flow, mostly I just use a trickle and all I'll get is a small puddle of coolant on the floor when operationg the lathe flat out. But thats easily fixed:, I have a small clear plastic curtain I fix to the...

Definitely steel, and definitely not one of those sheet metal stands that come with lathes. Mine came with a sheet metal stand, they make excelent stands on which to place 'light' benchtops.

    Lathe bed protector..

I made this bed protector a while back, waste of time really as I never remember to roll the thing out. But when I do it does work well. The protetor sheet itself is heavy duty, oil impregnated green canvas. It's attached to a length 22mm round PVC pipe which rolls it up. I shrunk some larger...

    Coolant system demo.

It's a roll out bed protector I made. Worth it's weight in gold for some projects. I'll post a bit on it. Whenever I remember to use it that is!

Yep, that was me, Vertical mills chuck debris horizontally, and without anything to stop the swarf, it gets flung everywhere. whereas lathes chuck it vertically, swarf trays, back trays and chuck guards (who uses them?) stop a lot of the debris, so nowhere near as messy as a mill, you do get...

Using the built in levelling system.

Can't say, not familiar with your lathe, but a plywood benchtop isn't the most rigid of structures. It'not a matter of the plywoord twisting the lathe, rather the other way. I'd imagine very few lathes would have a level bed, whatever you sit them on.
