    Scissor knurler.

Funny you should say that, I did think of that when building the thing, but for some reason the knurling comes out clean regardless of stock size. The knurling in the first post was on 8mm stock, the stock in this picture is 19mm. I've also knurled some bigger stock, nothing too outrageous...

    Small bench top belt grinder.

A small bench top belt grinder I made, it takes 730x25 belts, which I chose because the grits available vary from 80 to 1000. Originally the design was a three wheeler and there were two belts but the motor didn't have enough power to spin them, so I came up with this two wheel design. The motor...

    An appetiser, 74 TX650 rebuid.

A reed valve engine breather I machined up. Petal was taken from a pit bike read valve and cut in half, two holes drilled and screwed to the base plate. Base plate was tapped M3 10mm deep to take the petal. Not fun tapping this small, but, this time around the tap survived. Main body was carved...

    Scissor knurler.

Another tool I made quite a while ago. I bought the wheels on ebay for a few bucks and put the rest together myself. I've had a bit of use out of this fella. It tends to walk if if not set up perfectly square to the job. I assume that's a typical thing with these type knurlers. A bit rusty...

Tool There is a difference even in the cheap stuff.

Some of the lathes available in Australia are absolute rubbish. I've had five lathes, The first being a 9x20 back around 93. The worst lathe was an AL-250. I bought it because the specs were good and the supplier had a good name: geared head, powered cross feed, etc. As it turned out, it...

    An appetiser, 74 TX650 rebuid.

You've probably noticed the aluminium manifolds on the bike. The bike was fitted with BS38 carbs originally, they are CV type carbs. The diaphragms were holed and as I couldn't get new ones at a reasonable price I opted to replace them with VM34s. The VMs came with manifolds and rubbers, but...

    An appetiser, 74 TX650 rebuid.

Here’s a couple of small pancake filters I made. I originally had pods, but the rubber gromet in the pods that fits over the bellmouth is way smaller than the bellmouth, not ideal for air flow, I cut a 15mm slice off the 101.6mm lump of ally and turned down one end to 97.4mm, then cut a piece...

Maybe a little suction. But with the inlet/outlet facing up, gravity wouldn'r affect it. Anyway I haven't had any problem, pressure is there from the get go.

Yep, that's why I bought the mini 3.
