Need monitor advice for this version

FWIW, I ordered three touchscreens from Amazon and returned all three, one was resistive touch and the other two were capacitive touch. All three sucked compared to the Yoga screen. If I had to rate them, all three were < 3/10, and I would give the Yoga a 10/10. Seems many of these new displays...

Need monitor advice for this version

I'm using a used Lenovo Yoga for CNC control of my lathe. Paid $99 on eBay. Fantastic high resolution capacitive touch screen, I'm very pleased with it. They call it a Yoga, because the screen can be at any angle 0-360 degrees. If you do go that route consider getting a docking station (also...

    Busy Bee CX603 VFD?

Well I updated my eBay search criteria for Sensorless Flux Vector control VFD with external brake and found a 2HP Altivar, I offered $70 and it was accepted. I hope this one is good as the others I have. Now I just need to find another bargain 3-ph motor and I can put it to use.

Workplace Safety at work and in the home shop

I'm ignorant when it comes to the various forms of asbestos and their related risk factors, IIRC some forms are much worse than others. The father of one of my buddies owned a brake shop for about 30 years, constantly using compressed air (zero PPE) to blow the asbestos out of the drums etc...

    The wonders of Bill's Privates

Same thing here, all updates turned off and they come and do as they please when they please breaking working stuff as they go. No more new windows for me (other than in a VM) under Linux. I have one last PC still running 7 and on my todo list is to make Linux the OS on that machine. It truly...

    Machine CX706 Spindle attachments

I also have a CX706. I would be curious to hear the pros and cons of this setup especially in comparison to the other common spindle attachment methods? I see some people use collet's instead of the 3 or 4 jaw chuck, would also like hear pros and cons of that approach?

Halton, Ontario doctors can prescribe "Nature Pass"

Give me some green space. When I see a big city like New York. Walking in the shadows of the buildings, surrounded by consumerism and millions of people my gut reaction is run! I just don't understand the appeal for so many people. Might be interesting to visit but I sure wouldn't want to live...
