    Fabricated Fixture plate

Now that I look at a picture of one you’re right, kinda high. Maybe there’s something closer. I too like to draw on “parts bin Engineering” to repurpose things like that. I saw a picture of an Audi OHC rocker with a central roller that was a better looking shape. The roller/shaft would have...

    Fabricated Fixture plate

Seeing this disturbed the dust in my memory and made me ponder using some cast off rockers from an old small block Chev. Is that a crazy thought? It would probably need some sort of a post to stand in for the pushrod but that wouldn’t be too hard to come by and the fulcrum ball would be a...

The “free” First LC-1 1/2 VS Mill

My First is a TM but they’re pretty well the same machine otherwise. My machine actually creeps up just a bit when fully extended but otherwise it stays put so I assume it’s behaving correctly or at least acceptably. I think I’d rather have it creep up a bit rather than down. D

The “free” First LC-1 1/2 VS Mill

You may also find suitable manuals on the web for machines sold as Sharp brand. Long Chang makes the machines sold as First and Sharp, in fact some of the Sharp manuals show pictures of First machines. D

The “free” First LC-1 1/2 VS Mill

This is exactly how my First LC 1-1/2 operates. @grease monkey, is your First an LC 1-1/2? BTW for Bridgeport machines as well as the clones like a First or a Hartford, H & W Machine Repair is a great source for disassembly and repair info. They have produced a series of very good videos...

Hello Ian, welcome to the group! As @Susquatch says there are a few of us out here on the east coast, HRM in my case. Good to have more company. What kinds of things are on your project list? There are two things this group likes to do, help you spend your money on tools and look at...
