I’ve had a few Chipmasters and like them. Down to just one now that I doubt I’d ever sell. There was at least two different types of spindle bearings, the later type still being available according to a friend as late as 2022.
That’s not a regular FP1, it’s the ‘Active’ version. Also likely has vertical head with ISO40 spindle not the needle bearing SK40 older Deckel arrangement.
No idea about value, but suspect much more than $750. Perhaps the guy missed a zero.
By any chance was the Rimrock maintenance guy making a 1.5” scale CPR Selkirk? If not, there’s another machine shop in Banff town- owned by a hotel staff person- I just don’t know which hotel.
