Supplies Am I seeing this right?

Coincidentally I was specifically looking for metric O1. First in euro suppliers (spendy) then Ebay (slim pickens) then in my usual dark alley (AliExpress). If 'tool steel' is there, its well disguised. They have reasonably priced HSS as in cutting tool blanks. All kinds of carbide in many...

    Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo

So on your new Kobra S1, is a version of Klipper already installed or you need to download onto USB & boot it on the printer?

    Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo

I don't quite understand 'Klipper'. Is that firmware installed on the printer itself? Do you still use something like Orcaslicer to convert CAD/solid files to g-code & it talks to Klipper to print? Who is in charge of Wifi communication? Oor send me a link if its easier to read elsewhere. I am...

Tips/Techniques Show your shop related 3DP

That occurred to me in some other prints in a DUH moment. Why am I bothering? Shelling saves material in typical injection molded plastics but 3DP has a better trick - fill the void space with many choices of infill geometry, density, thicknesses... all that with just a button click in Slicer.

Ah I getcha now. For whatever reason I made a floor to the collet so I was having trouble visualizing printing inverted without using supports (ER16) I made the rack outline to fit a box & lost track of the fact I only own 1/3 as many collets. Should have made it half the size & left room for...

    de-magnetize digital calipers

I stupidly inflicted my own pain by measuring magnets - don't ever do that - But I also have heard that jaws can can become magnetized over time. Some steels I've machined exhibit magnetized 'fur' during cutting so I guess its possible to transfer that to tooling although one would think they...

Tips/Techniques Show your shop related 3DP

You mean the 'top' side we are seeing with collets was the plate side? Do the collet holes have a bottom surface or essentially the collet hole goes right through the storage block? Is the block itself 'shelled' inside of all surfaces?

    de-magnetize digital calipers

I tried the one mentioned in the HM link, it was basically ineffective.
