Tools you waited too long to acquire

You can never have too many stripping, crimping, or riveting tools. Oddball one is bottom middle. It’s a crimp tool to set steel collapsing drywall anchors.

Tips/Techniques CX706 Lathe - half speed in reverse?

The KBIC controllers used by BB do not have any circuitry that affects motor polarity. My guess is pins 11 and 12 on the R/F switch are adding a resistance in parallel to the speed control P1 and P2, which lower the speed control signal. I suggest disconnecting pins 11 and 12 and running the...

    Tesla Cybertruck Has Evolved!

This didn't take long. Not sure why someone would paint (wrap?) a $138,000 stainless steel Tesla Cybertruck, but here we are. Sorry about the grainy dash cam video, I was too dumbfounded by the sight of this travesty I didn't have the presence of mind to follow it and get a better picture.

Tools you waited too long to acquire

Just saw one of the Cybertrucks next to me at a stoplight. $138k for a truck with a 6’x4’ bed, no possible way to add a canopy, and a design that looks like it was done by a kid in kindergarten? Perhaps not. It will do 0-100 mph in 2.7 seconds, but that’s not generally one of the criteria I used...

rotary table and the number of slots

Multiple ways to skin a cat. The three-jaw back mount chuck is on a backplate with slots to match the four slots on the little rotary table. Relatively easy to center with a bit of effort and a dial indicator. The four jaw is a front mount, with the back machined with tabs to line up with the...

Cool Tools in your home shop that you'd not likely not see in someone else's?

Today’s acquisition - 1910 Sears / Acme two-speed post drill. Good condition, fully functional, needs some nice black lacquer paint with gold trim. Also time to make a keyless chuck adapter. Cost me more than the original $7.10.
