That grind looks pretty good to me. Maybe it is just the camera angle, but the first picture shows almost a negative top rake. I would try neutral (flat) or slightly positive. I would also go for a larger nose radius. Honing the cutting edge might help as well (maybe you did, I just can’t tell).
