    Tips/Techniques Urban and traffic planning

    Spent the last 3 months in France. Drove all over and only had to stop at a couple of stoplights. They traffic circles work well but some of them get so busy it is hard to get onto them. Some of them are so small they are just painted on the asphalt, kinda funny, but no stop sign.

    Buying socket head cap screws online

    I buy everything from Amazon, nothing has fallen apart yet. Of course I would think differently if I was building a submarine or an airplane or something. The 12.9 grade cap screws seem alright to me.

    Looking at other CNC router options.... what do you have?

    I built one similar to this: https://www.wadeodesign.com/. I also found the electronics/wiring very challenging. Like whimpering crying type of thing. I am using Mach 4, which is fine, but they don't make the boards and controllers, so it isn't like a turn key environment.

    I built a 2x48 using plans online. Then sent the DXF file to a place that laser cut it. It was several years ago but they charged 165.00 which included the steel. The cheap variable frequency drives seem to work fine and you can adjust speed right on the VFD if you don't want to get fancy...

    I ended up chopping the pilots off of my fixed counterbores. Just like @Susquatch I don't like the hole size you need in order for the pilot to work.

    High speed CNC router spindle question

    I have an Ugra air cooled spindle with max rpm of 12000. They say don't run it less that 4000rpm. The torque curve is linear so as DavidR8 said the torque is pretty much non-existent at the really low speeds. I am currently switching to a belt driven spindle with a servo motor so I can run at...
