Holy smokes!!

Hey Darren, When I was working this out (prior to the Miss Metric) I worked out a few “plans” for the gears and the Banjo. You have a couple rare finds there! Awesomeness

Ah crap, I swept up today - ugh! Almost there !!! Ran out of 1/2” conduit will address tomorrow AM!

The side cuts leaving 0.415” are a close approximation- like one side is 0.4146 and the other is 0.415 - this is because I made the fit as close as possible so the block has no wiggle to prevent any taper changes with a sloppier fit. Maybe not necessary but was fun.

Hey Darren, yes the 24DP 14.5 sounds correct. If you can measure up the Banjos and some pics would be great! I will scoot out and take some pics of the block

@Darren - the only things in the block that are not just basically a C on top of the rail is a relief in the middle for oil distribution. I tried to keep the slot at a close tolerance- maybe 1 thou so the taper is accurate. I can take a few pics for you tomorrow.

Fast update: Working on all the electrical and heating. So far I have 120Vac outlets, one 240Vac for the band saw, the heat has an outlet and the control system is wired, circ pump etc. I have the LED lights installed. This works great! I will provide a link to the lights. Easy...

Wow! That lathe would cost more than both my lathes, milling machine, cutter grinder, welder, bandsaw etc combined!! Holy lathe Batman, the Joker is posting on Kijiji! BIFF BAM BOOM!

For @djberta : Back splash pics: That is about the looks of things. Does a great job of not slinging oil all over!!

@skippyelwell - might be worth machining the base to the correct fit. Very odd to have the wrong tailstock, however, this forum has seen many lathes missing one entirely! Haha.
