I think the most common one is stl. There are a couple of other types obj and amf. I’ve only used stl, I don’t know if the other formats have any advantages or not.

My quick read of the SWmaker restrictions is that any files created could only be opened in SWmaker and would not work with regular SW. I didn’t see whether SWmaker would opened an SW file or not. Have you tried opening an SW file?

Welcome from SW Calgary. Your choice may depend on the size of your work envelope. I think the Chinese 7x10s are likely better than similar sized vintage lathes like the 6” atlas. Chinese 14” and larger are likely fine. The sizes in between are a bit of a crap shoot. I did have a Chinese...

I have a piece 6’ piece of 1”x3” aluminum extrusion made by 8020 that is as straight as I can tell. A piece of 1”x1” has a definite bow of about ⅛” over the 6’ length. Princess Auto sells similar extrusions. They may or may not be as straight but you could likely pull a couple from the rack...

I measured mine and it matches PT2131NR1 large pulley OD 3.4”. Small pulley OD 2.09”.

Yes, the 9A has power crossfeed. The 9B does as well but doesn’t have a gearbox.
