    DavidR8's shop shenanigans

Never hurts to take a step back before taking that new next step forward. The world is changing very quickly these days. I won't say too much here... Personally, I think you made a good choice when it comes to looking at smaller machining equipment for home hobby adventures.

Tool Tooling up a milling machine

As Degen mentioned above, once you start with solid carbide/indexable on the mill, it will be hard to go back to HSS and coolants. Within the next few weeks, I will be changing up tooling distributers. Will have some carbide em's, drills and taps that may interest some folks on the forum. This...

There's a good reason why you stay out of the dyno cell when doing a full power run!

Do you remember the Olds 350 DX engines ? If so, you probably seen some crazy diesel explosions. The DX blocks make for a much stronger gas block, but hard to find these days. Did you blow them all up @Susquatch ?

There's a good reason why you stay out of the dyno cell when doing a full power run!

Every Dyno run, be it engine or chassis. We were still in the proto type stages. You would need more than a helmet and chest protection to enter the room haha. I built a 403 Olds block and lost it to detonation back in the day, wasn't pretty. Just expensive and cool to watch haha.. Needless to...

Product Princess Auto Universal Sliding Heavy Duty Angle Grinder Stand

I don't own 1 but I think they would be useful in a small hobby environment. Safer than free cutting IMO but with a catch. If your cutting up wide stock to its capacity limit then I would look into something else. I would think it could be potentially dangerous. I would probably want to keep...

Looks like someone likes to stay away from the Dutch pins haha. I with you on that 1. Nice work on the press fit the tap went well. On a side note, I think my warden is a secret agent for the WEF...... My net worth has been dropping since I asked where the snow brush went in the truck...things...

    Carbide Endmills on Kijiji

If you feel the value is worth the effort you can try them and see what you think. The endmill I posted @ $45. has a good edge and will last for months and months in a hobby environment. If you don't have any ball nose and would like some, they will get you started. Just take small DOC's with...

    Carbide Endmills on Kijiji

IMHO, The coated 2flt ball nose would be half decent but not worth the effort. The endmills are barely worth the $9/lb scrap prices. If you look at the grind of what he is offering, you certainly wouldnt want to double cut a chip. If you happen to, the edge will be gone in an instant. No micro...

    Carbide Endmills on Kijiji

I will just say this.... for $45. 1 of these endmills will last longer than the whole lot of what he has to offer. I'm sure the Aliexpress stuff that @Tom Kitta is better than the stuff this guy is selling.
