    Machine Arcdroid

My thoughts are that it’s portable and small enough to not eat up a gantry size footprint. I have had several gantry cnc routers and like how they work, but for a machine that’s not used every day,it has merit. My concern is it’s durability and how well it runs.

    Machine Arcdroid

Arcdroid CNC plasma cutter. Has anyone tried one of these? Looks super intriguing. Small space yet capable of kicking out nice projects. Thoughts?....

    Machining fun

Sounds like you have a good thing going there,I’m sure you will be fine. An annular stock cutter would have been a dream. I like your idea of getting one ground , or use the most worn out lathe in the shop and let the run out get you there. Lol.

    Machining fun

Hopefully you have a good pillow picker ( designer) . After 20 years of working with them, I have become very jaded. The good ones understand manufacturing has its challenges, and are receptive to changes or ideas. The others are hell bent on seeing their design the way they envision...

Machine Looking for a manual and or opinions

If your open for an opinion I’ll give mine. This is by no means scientific or gospel. I have a manual to an older Voeste lathe and it calls for hydraulic 32. One of my other lathes calls for something similar. I can’t imagine a home shop working a lathe of this size to its limits. Try 32 and...

    Tool Coolant fix

Not wanting to run full coolant because of the minimal use thing. I was leaning to a misting set up. Most of my turning and milling are done with a small brush and oil, but on some big 4140 pins I just did a misting setup would have been beneficial I think. Thoughts? And recommended setups?

So i drove past this today...

Come on!!!! You gotta go for it! Think of it as manly yard art, if it doesn’t work out. I’d take that in a Shuswap minute to hide in the forest somewhere and watch the stories become legends. Lol!

    Machine edge

Stationary disc sander would be my choice

    Excavator pins

I miss read the post, and thought he meant the drill bit breaks. Silly me. These pins are cross drilled in the bushing stress zone, so we have no fear of them breaking.
