  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    I got an alert this morning down in Surfside Beach South Carolina very early this morning that the smoke from the wildfires were sweeping down. Got some great pics of it at sunrise this morning ! Pretty cool looking sky . Pics are on my phone so I'll have to learn how to post them . :cool:

    Pretty simple formula for keyless vs keyed chucks. Keyless is for 3/8s and below IN THE MILL only . Lathe , always a SSB .

    You are on the southern site . I have 50 or so Jacobs SSBs and quite a few Albrechts . For any type of large drilling just removing material any cheap chuck will do , and the cheap chuck should be used . Save the SSB or precision Albrechts for more delicate ops . Edit .     We call them Limited Maintenance roads in the Adirondacks . Limited I think means drive at you own risk . As far as new concept cars ........The Camaro and Vega SS look pretty damn cool . Have to wonder if they'll become reality though .

    Not that it matters , but I'll be up in August or early Sept . I got to visit a few member's shops:) last year while in Calgary with Dabbler and John Neilson . Hope to visit a few more this year .

    My son Matt and his wife are sitting behind home plate just to the left , second row . He has a blue shirt on . They came from Calgary to get to the game . They actually lived 100 yards away from the stadium until they moved west . OK , back to the regular programming . :cool:
