3d scanning cars, motorcycles, aircraft, and boats

I think the 24 K refers to a Handyscan silver or (rebirthed 700)' Even their Go-scan structured light scanner is about 45 k CAD.. Their customers are companies that are using these tools to generate income. his is not a hobby grade machine. It is th best from the west. Not Chinese knockoffs...

Metrology scanners are not going down. Consumer grade cameras would end up having to be astronomically better before this special market is approached.

    FreeCAD 1.0 released

I fight this all the time at the Makerspace. Their IT lead is a big Ubuntu guru. If it isn't open source they hate it. doesn't matter that I can get a 1 year free Edu version of Mastercam for everyone that wants it. They still want to push this FreeCAD. I haven't the time of day to bother with...

3d scanning cars, motorcycles, aircraft, and boats

Hi Peter, This scanner is called the Creaform Max. It has a larger field of view than the smaller more precise Black Élite. (linking below). This scanner is meant for large objects. It has incredible volumetric accuracy, so that you never end up with a scan that doesn't line up by the time you...

    Relief maker by Alibre

I am wondering if anyone has ventured into this realm? I am interested, but then see Alibre, which states that you can buy a permanent license.. Upon ver2.0, you will be forced to pay again.. Besides that negativity.. I am looking for the positive. The fact that it is not on a cloud is good. Is...

    Making Ingots

The chips have mist spray coolant coating. I am wondering if preheat over the firepit will help to both remove moisture and burn off all oil. They seem dry, but this concerns me as to explosiveness. I have my new firepit ready now and could bbq them for a while..

    Making Ingots

Even if there is not much benefit in terms of oxidation, time saved from dumping less volume into the crucible will save gas. I will take you up on the comparison, once I get to melting.. There is also experiments to see what is the best flux too. See volume comparison.

    Making Ingots

This thread continues my previous one on "press questions". I have a process for making briquettes down and also have other material to try. Briquette density is 68 % of solid. The compression ratio for fill is 7-1 over loose and is much easier to handle, and less air to oxidize. This is the...
