    Mill Spindle Cleanup

Agreed, the purpose of the pin is for alignment, and not ment to be under tension. I think the problem also starts to snowball with damage to the spindle; rougher surface-less holding capacity-loose tool adds more damage- shears pin, etc.

    Mill Spindle Cleanup

Great idea on the reamer; I was trying to think of solutions other than grinding. Thanks.

    Mill Spindle Cleanup

I assume that’s the cause? Now that it’s out, I can replace the pin so this mess doesn’t happen again.

    Mill Spindle Cleanup

I’ll get a picture or two of the defect once I’m home tomorrow. Looks like the ideal fix is to put in a lathe, and have the inside ground; anyone have a Toolpost grinder?

    Mill Spindle Cleanup

Hi, I have my RF45 clone apart currently, and thought it might be a good time to address the interior of the R8 spindle; there’s some markings and rough spots on the interior. What are some options for cleaning this up? (Have a small video, but can’t seem to post). Thanks.

    Force RF45 Clone Parts

Wouldn’t have thought of TSL; but they certainly don’t make parts guys like they used to. I’ve got the gearbox mostly apart now; bearings shouldn’t be a problem to find, hopefully the seals are as straight forward. Good tip on the breather, .

    Force RF45 Clone Parts

Good points, thanks Peter. I was hoping to have a source of parts before opening it up. The previous owner said it was discounted at the store, because it was leaking from new. They even had the original gallon jug of oil the store threw in for the leak. Anyways, should be a relatively simple...

    Force RF45 Clone Parts

Hi, Is there a business in Calgary, or an online site for ordering replacement parts? I’ve got a leaky sight glass, and I might take a look at replacing seals & bearings while I have it open. The machine itself is: FRV30-200 ANH ZAY7045L Thanks.

    Tilt-deck trailer for rent?

Neither is on rollers at this time. The mill is an RF45 clone; I’m not too worried about that-I will have an engine hoist lined up. The lathe is the Harrison that was at auction in RD; a tilt deck trailer w winch would simplify things. If I can’t find anything, I’ll likely rent a U-Haul...

    Tilt-deck trailer for rent?

Anyone have have a tilt-deck trailer they’d rent? I’m in Airdrie, and need to move a lathe (1500lbs) & mill(800lbs) from Red Deer. I’d entertain other options as well. Thanks.

    Milling machine and accessories, $1,000

So many scams! All new 2024 or 2025 accounts, unusual names, no friends on their profile, other desirable items, multiple listing locations, too good to be true pricing-lots of flags once you start knowing how to identify them. It’s a crazy world.
