I bought my vice from kms tools its a 4 inch and seems to be the perfect size for these smaller mills

    tramming mill

I have a 4 inch curt style vice and the distance from the fixed jaw and the hold down tabs on the vice base is greater then the distance between t-slots on table.

    tramming mill

That is a great Idea provided it lines up over a t slot so your bolts will go in , my vice came with alignment studs that bolt on the bottom but I took them off for ease of moving vice around.

    tramming mill

Thats what I did as well, but now im thinking about I should tram in off of the middle t-slot as its nice when milling round bar to use the slot as holding fixture

    tramming mill

When you guys tram your mill do you first do a t-nut slot on the table to get the head close, or do you go straight to tramming the vice. Jamie

    Milling Half Cylinders into Stock.

I have used ball nose burrs from a die grinder with the same efect as a ball nose end mill, just slower feed, less depth of cut and faster rpm.

    Follow rest repair material

I +1 the bearings, little fab work and cheap to replace, I think you can buy them for about 5 bucks a piece at princess auto or lordco. Even skate board bearings would work.

Hi alex, Everything I own is imperial except for a tape measure lol! I learned in imperial when I was doing my automotive engineer course (mechanic) and when I build engines its all measured in imperial so thats what I prefer, but everything we do at work is metric. I can convert pretty...
