Does anyone know of any welding teachers in Burlington or Halton area?

100% agree. I already bought two pieces of 5/8" x 6" x 12" steel plate in place of the aluminum. :) The thickness was what was recommended to me by the folks at Beach Road Steel where I bought it.

Does anyone know of any welding teachers in Burlington or Halton area?

Hi All, Thanks so much for all the replies - sorry for disappearing for a bit, work got crazy. Based on everyone's feedback, I guess I'll take a crack at figuring out the welding and then go from there. As for the stand, my lathe is tiny (10x22), and the stand they sold for it is made of very...

Tips/Techniques Show your shop related 3DP

I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but you can also fully embed nuts by modeling them inside the print and then putting a layer pause in the slicer right before it tries to bridge the hole closed, insert the nut, and then continue the print to fully capture the nut inside. Makes for a...

Good point on the fire extinguisher. That one slipped my mind.

Does anyone know of any welding teachers in Burlington or Halton area?

Yup, I have everything I need like helmt, gloves, apron, wire, etc. I'm currently lacking a table, but I'm not sure how much I want to invest in one until I get a sense of how often I'll use it, as I have limited space in my one-car garage shop.

    Bambu Lab 3rd Anniversary Sale

I'm very tempted by the H2D, as the dual nozzle opens up a lot of multi-material options you can't do with just the AMS. But, I tend to build my 3d printers so I can understand and have control over every aspect of the machine. That being said, it has evolved into both a hobby and a tool. It...

Does anyone know of any welding teachers in Burlington or Halton area?

I purchased the MIG-205 from Yeswelder, a multi-process welder capable of performing Stick, MIG, and Lift TIG welding. I did a fair amount of research on decent, inexpensive welders, and this one got good reviews. I'm not quite ready to commit to $2000+ welder for something I'm only likely to...

Does anyone know of any welding teachers in Burlington or Halton area?

I recently bought a welding setup to start learning basic welding in my "spare" time, and I'd really like to find someone local who can teach me the basics. I know I can just use Youtube and learn myself by building projects, but I'd like to excellerate the learning process (if possible) by...

    Difficult Picture upload... again

Thanks for the info. I'd love to help, but it doesn't sound like something I could assist in solving, short of a membership I guess :) If you want to share some storage and transfer stats over pm, I can see if there's anything I might be able to suggest or help with. I did have a look at what...

    Difficult Picture upload... again

Is this forum self hosted or provided by a third party? I'm wondering if it's a software issue or config/setup related. I see it's a payfor platform so if it's a bug, they should fix it. :)

Thanks everyone for all the helpful comments and experiences, it's really been a huge help. Admittedly, I might be more uncertain now in my decision on what to do then when I satarted :). But, it's all been extremely helpful. I must say, this has probably been the best forum experience I think...

Looking for milling machine purchase help/advice

This was my thinking as I already have a lot of tools, and if I added a large Bridgeport, that's be it.if I could even fit it. :(

Looking for milling machine purchase help/advice

Lol, I hear ya. I've been in software for the last 25 years, more executive management the last decade, but I still live me a little yak-shaving.
