    Used Lathe Prices

I got so frustrated when I was looking for a mill I bought a brand new Baileigh. It was expensive but it’s awesome. I won’t use a lathe a ton so if possible I would like to wait and get a reasonably priced used unit…the Kijiji folks have had their overpriced machines up forever but don’t seem to...

    Used Lathe Prices

I went and looked at some used lathes today and people have gone mad with post Covid greed. Some folks are charging the same amount as new for lathes that are 15 y/o and cost 1/2 at the time of purchase. Maybe someone can shed some light on why used tools are ridiculously expensive. I got so...

Reasonable price for a Myford Lathe

I am probably going to get flack for this but I have to draw attention to the fact that much of the value is nostalgia and pride of ownership from what I have seen with Myfords. I have a formal education in engineering and metallurgy and I can confidently say that from a metallurgical...

How do you like your Craftex 10x22 DPitmann? I am curious what did they sell for 10 y/ago? Did you have any issues with the vfd speed controller?

Reasonable price for a Myford Lathe

What is a reasonable price for a Myford 7 or a 10? I don’t want to pay for nostalgia. If they are like classic cars with value captured in legacy/pedigree I will just purchase a brand new Asian lathe. What would the advantages be to an Myford over a brand new Craftex 10x22? Any recommendations...

I don’t know anything about Myfords, I saw a Myford 10 for 2500 seems really expensive for what you get. Is a small original Myford 7 or 10 as good or better than a Craftex 10x18 or 10x22? What should a reasonable price be?

How is the product support on the Craftex 10x22 lathe? Will I be able to get parts in 10 years? Are these a bread and butter tool that’s been around for a long time that’s rebranded by a dozen different companies that will be available into the foreseeable future?

I want a benchtop metal lathe (10x18 or 10x22) preferably 300lbs and under so 2 guys can lift it. A decent quality machine that can thread and will last a long time. Any thoughts on Craftex? Seems like Craftex a King are all us Canadians can get…please let me know your thoughts. Or let me know...

Capitalism and greed need to have boundaries. People being exploitive needs to punctuated with simply not buying what they are selling.
