    Anybody still using Mach3?

I've been running Mach3 for at least 12 years on various computers running XP, Win7 and now Win10. In general I found it to be reliable and flexible (easy to build custom macros and brains). It does have some bugs and Newfangled Solutions has stopped supporting it or fixing bugs. A few years...

Tools you waited too long to acquire

My vote for a tool I waited too long to get is a set of Fein core drills. Wonderful accurate cuts, some material saving and versatile - hand drill, lathe, mill etc. I got a set on sale to start and buy another every couple of months to build up my size range - especially if they are on sale.

    Am I a hoarder?

I'm sure my wife thinks I'm a hoarder, but she is always happy to have me fix something using a part from my big blue "good stuff" box that I started 50 years ago. Of course, now it has lots of company as the good stuff overflowed and had to locate elsewhere to fill up two shops!

I've written a series of 5 articles about the build which are being published in The Home Shop Machinist magazine. But here's a spoiler - a picture of the finished product.

Yes, I advertised it here for a few days to give our members priority. When I got little interest, I widened the advertising scope.

Responding to some comments, I've dropped the price to $6,000 and also confirmed that the lathe was (at least) assembled in Taiwan and imported from there.

Glad to be here. I've got a really big toolbox.

Welcome Paula. Good to see your interest in our comments. One suggestion that will save both your customers and your staff some time... Put the check box back on the order/delivery page to simplify requesting Canada Post. Seems silly to me that we have to call in to have your staff set that...

Make sure you are comparing apples to apples. This one comes with a DRO and some extras.

13-40 Metal Lathe with DRO for Sale

I have the opportunity to buy a different lathe, so I need to make room for it. Thus, my current lathe (with which I built a Quorn) is now available for sale. Great shape and some extra features. The lathe is in Harrison Hot Springs and is still plugged in for demos. $6250

    Industrial felt supplier in Canada

I bought several 9x10" sheets to make wipers. Way more than I need, so I'd be happy to mail you one if you wish. Here's the felt punch I made to get the ID and OD exact and concentric. Turned it up from scrap and used the press with wood or rubber backing under the felt.
