Before anyone starts the truck, the ad is very honest that there might be some serious wear or other issues…… But could be a diamond

    small metal shear $100, Victoria

Yes, I would agree with all those things, and I also found it did a beauty job with card stock. That one definitely would need a tune up and it looks like a lucky buyer will hopefully have great luck with it.

    small metal shear $100, Victoria

I had that same shear with my ITX NHermes Engravograph and they are not great, and mine was in much better condition before I traded it. It’s a trophy placard cutter and that one looks pretty ugly unfortunately. But if you want to cut lamacoid It’s probably fine. The blades look pretty rusty in...

Does Anyone Still Make The Real Swiss or German Multifix Tool Post? (not an offshore clone)

As I have mentioned in my other posts I use a Multifix on my Super 7. My other tool post is a 70’s vintage Dixon type tool post. Mine have W stamps because they were made for Myford by Weston Engineering in the UK. I only got two holders when I bought the lathe. There is lacing visible on the...

Does Anyone Still Make The Real Swiss or German Multifix Tool Post? (not an offshore clone)

I started out in aviation in the 90’s and the instrument shop had a Schaublin 102VM. I didn’t know much about machine tooling then but I remember hearing that it was the same price as an entry level house. The high end German and Swiss stuff has always had a shocking price tag. The overseas...

Does Anyone Still Make The Real Swiss or German Multifix Tool Post? (not an offshore clone)

I really appreciate your comments. From some of the reading I have done the Swiss/German made Multifix tool posts in the 70’s and 80’s far exceeded the cost of a home lathe. My toolpost is more than likely made in China as well with German QC. I think what has created a huge renaissance for the...

Does Anyone Still Make The Real Swiss or German Multifix Tool Post? (not an offshore clone)

To throw my hat in the ring with the mentioning of the PEWE tools Multifix, I bought myself the PEWE tools Multifix model AS before Christmas and am super happy with it. I looked long and hard at the AXA multifix size A and went as far as adding to cart and then got pissed off that they wanted...

Boxford AUD $7,500 Port Moody BC

I think out of control inflation has more to do with the lack of a buyer. You are right, It is a free market. If it doesn’t sell than the price will eventually go down. I have looked at two Boxfords for sale in person over the years on the plus side of 3k and they were worn out junk with no...

Boxford AUD $7,500 Port Moody BC

Lolz! Well, I am glade someone said it. I really detest the “It’s over priced” or “what’s it worth” side of forums. I think you are correct in your statement. Getting the lathe is one thing, and then being beaten up afterwards to tool it up so it meets even a hombiest’s requirements is another...

    Monarch 10EC Vancouver $750

I am having issues trying to attach the FBM link to this but at $750 someone could get a heck of a deal. This is an air turret chucker lathe so no tailstock but if you look the brochure up these lathes were insanely expensive and boasted something ridiculous like a TIR of .000003!!! Also note...
