Where to get ISO 15 or even ISO 10 oil?

You can get ' non-detergent ' oil at Canadian Tire. Mine has 5W and 10W iirc. KBC is good. They've had a bunch of free shipping promo's. Check Boxing Day for deals.

    Drill chuck for a mill

I've been shopping the last couple of weeks myself. About the best deal I've found so far is an Accusize R8 arbour ( $ 18 ) and LFA keyless drill chuck on amazon canada. ** dooh, 1/2 chuck was $ 38 last week, jumped to $ 58 now that only one is left.

    Chuck Backplate - Montreal area

Hi James, https://espacefabrique.org/ We've got a full sized lathe and mill you can work with. Otherwise we have a couple of machinists who take on projects when they have time. Not sure about UNF but we should be able to figure something out. You could also try Seguin Machinery. They've...

    Must have hand tools?

Safety glasses and ear plugs. Those should be number 2 on your list. Number one is a case for each. I can testify that tinnitus is horribly annoying and you don't want to get it. I got a wicked deal on a pair of Wiley's 3 years back. They're still impeccable and crystal clear. The...

    A Sunday project with wood.

Nice job. I'm past due for the same project myself.

    CNC router Recommendations?

One of our members was working on one of these yesterday : https://www.v1engineering.com/ It's his second one. He was one of the first people to set it up as a plasma cutter. He's got a couple hundred hours on it and loved it enough to build a second one as a dedicated router. The laser...

    3" mill vise

The Shars stuff is well reviewed but brutal to get up here due to the shipping. Unless you live close to the border and can pick it up it's not a great option. King has a 3" that runs @ $ 99. Should be more than good enough for a mini mill and they're easy to come by.

    Sourcing End Mills

Free shipping and free stuff for orders over $ 100 at KBC this week if that motivates anyone.

    Sourcing End Mills

90% of all my stuff comes from KBC and overall I'm very happy. I mostly order their house brand which is a mix of Eastern Europe and China. Always feel that I've gotten my moneys worth. I pretty much stick to plain old HSS. I just don't work fast enough or with any kind of material that...

    Vibratory Tumbler?

Vibratory tumbling is not usually an aggressive form of polishing or deburring, unless you use a particularly nasty tumbling media like ceramic. Parts do bump but it's minimal. One of the main uses is cleaning fired casings. The brass is very thin compared to most machined items and it's...

    Sourcing Metal | General Discussion

Metaux Solutions in Longueuil just outside Montreal. They're my main supplier when I need full bars. I've got a friend who owns a machine shop. When I just need a few inches for a proto I can usually trade him beer for bar. And I've got walkabout privileges at 4 scrap yards in the region...

    Wanted: Metal Lathe

For $ 55 a month that Protospace place seems like your best deal. It's cute having your own stuff but you also own the hassle of the maintenance, transport, mess, cost. For $ 55 you have no stress plus access to a ton of other equipment and the knowledge of the other members.
