Tool I beat Tom Lipton to it!

Speaking of skates and moving heavy equipment... I worked on a job where our crew assisted with decommissioning an MRI. Once the MRI was ready to be moved out of the room a moving crew from Ontario showed up with air skates. Seemed like nobody working on that job had seen air skates in action...

    New ceiling mounted crane?

I wonder who insisted on the matching puffy vests for the video? And are those Nancy Sinatra boots made for walking...I mean working?

Good info. Maybe if one of us had studied it more closely we might have reached that conclusion. Strategically it makes sense. This is an interesting insider bit of info: "Oh we list them for parts so nobody can come back on us, if something doesn't work!" I always assumed that when you buy...

    The Faller Came Early

We have a 50 year-old ash in our backyard that is IMO priceless. To keep it in good health and make sure there wasn't any accidents with branches falling onto our buildings or our neighbors we decided to get it trimmed up. A team of 3, 2 in the tree and 1 on the ground, spent 2 solid hours...

    The Faller Came Early

Mad respect for that gentleman's skills! I witnessed my brother-in-law fall a tree up at the family cabin. Put it perfectly between the side of the cabin and an outdoor shower stall with barely any room to spare. Would have been more impressive except for the fact it was directly opposite of...

Since we're talking about auctions... Trying to remember - years ago was GCSurplus closed bidding only? I am thinking back to about 10 years ago. Myself and a few co-workers used to peruse the Saskatchewan items and occasionally bid. If my memory is correct we would look-up the results and...

I am familiar with pre internet farm auctions, as I am sure you are, too. Got introduced to the sometimes wild and wooly world of farm auctions through my father-in-law who was a very well known attendee and eventually worked for a small auction company. I have been to the family farm auction...

BC Auction has an FAQ that explains how the bidding works: FAQ Q. How Does Proxy Bidding work? A. When you place a bid, you enter the maximum amount you'd be willing to pay for the item. Your maximum amount is kept confidential from other bidders and the seller until your maximum bid has been...

Is this the auction item? If it is, high bid appears to be $3100.00.

Opinion needed about heavy cast iron junk (use to be surface grinder)

I promise not to go to the junk yard right after picking it up.....probably wait a bit then go.;) Seriously, If it's been sitting for years and you need the room then try selling it first. If nobody wants to pay you to haul away your junk, their treasure, then offer it for free - without...

"It's not a toy. Lowballers and idiots will be blocked." I guess I'm out. Nonetheless, that would be quite the project.
