  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Machine New 20T Mr. Blacksmith (Princess Auto) hydraulic press

Even the cheap PA presses have gauges. My 12T starts flexing a lot at 8T and is nearly impossible to pump at 10T.

Shop Wall storage ideas, French cleats vs ......

My experience with French cleats is that you spend the first few days with it sorting out what to put where and then the next 12 years with everything in EXACTLY THE SAME PLACE IT STARTED. Now I have a big shop so I'm not terribly space constrained . YMMV.

I've seen bread work as well. Probably anything squishy but not runny.

Just because it is classified as a human right does not mean that it is supplied free of charge. It means you should have the ability to access it without fear of discrimination.

I doubt you've failed. I don't have kids so take this for what it is worth. When you're a kid, your peer group is EVERYTHING. I was a smart kid in grade school but barely passed high school because I chose friends that were popular but lazy and dumb. If you surround yourself with stoners...

Yup, but I wouldn't have hired him in the first place unless he came asking for the job himself. Always a bad sign when Pop asks. When we had the kennel running a guy came to drop off his dogs. We were super busy with about 80 dogs. He asks how we can do this all by ourselves. We tell him we...

    The ultimate filer

Had it in Florence. With enough tomato sauce and hot peppers, you can almost make yourself forget it's just shit that hadn't hit the ground yet. We fed tripe in various forms to the dogs for years. Canned, frozen..dried was the only one that didn't immediately make me want to hurl.

    Alexander Deckel SO Clone

Supposedly, iodine used to be used to permanently rust scope mounting bolts in place as it is very corrosive. Sounds kind of like a last ditch effort in this case.

I've had better luck on really really stuck stuff with just using wax. Heat up the part, hold a piece of wax on it and let it melt all over the joint, let it cool and pull it apart. Never really been a fan of the liquid wrench type of products for anything seriously stuck.

Luckily I don't think David has found any evidence of rats in his VW, although there is certainly a hint of Germans. (just trying to correct some thread drift:D)
