Testing my memory here...but I believe speed and torch power are the factors. I used the Hypertherm mechanized guidelines in the manual on their site to cut a bunch of sign bases for Janger years ago. They were 3/8" I think. Just a little tweaking WRT speed. I know people like to debate the...
Hi Guys
While I'm not doing any metalwork anymore, I still make skunk traps from wood and PVC.
Today I was at Calgary Industrial Plastics on 5 ST SE talking to Tibor, and I discovered that he is retiring in the spring. He is franchisee owner and the company is buying back the franchise stores...
Hi David — yes, very similar to what I sold. However, I'm not a credible source WRT pricing. My thought process was that I had got everything I wanted to out of the wonderful hobby and it was time to divest. I let everything go at a steal and don't recall a lot of negotiation as I pretty much...
Problem solved. @RobinHood made these for me and they fit like a glove—just enough overlap to hold the sleeve w/o interfering with sanding. As it turns out, they even fit perfectly inside one of the on-board storage slots designed for the spindle bases. It's like it belongs there....
First pic...
You da man. Great approach too...I always hated parting off. Woo Hoo. And fast too.
I really appreciate this ! (Note: I'm so happy I made an exception to my "no exclamation marks on my watch" policy.)
Bubbles? Is that you? Where are Ricky and Julien?
OK moderators....I will stop now before you stop me.
Thanks everyone for your help. Very kind of all of you. Cheers.
When you get back to your home planet, do me a favour and check the shipping rates from there. I think the guy from Ontario who quoted me shipping rates is using their postal code by mistake.
Yes, thanks. You were on my hit list if sourcing and hackage failed. There are videos on YoYoTube that show how to soften up the spindles and other rubber parts using "standard" household chemicals such as Simple Green and/or heat. But there are also videos on how to fix gas tank leaks with...
Wow. Super nice of you. Not on the house though. I don’t mind driving out to your place when ready; retirement = lots of time. No rush….I'm good for weeks. Thanks a million.
LOL. If you guys keep bidding against one another, eventually shipping will be affordable.
I used to have a nice lathe, ironworker, mini-mill etc., but had to sell all my metal related tools and machinery and stay away from metal dust/welding due to illness. Doc OK'd me to go back to...
Actually, for the price they are one of the few affordable shop tools around. Not industrial grade and you can't lean into them. But as the old saying goes—if you let the tool do the work they are OK. In my case, it's a real change of pace not to need a crane to move it.
Well, at least you are undercutting the Ontario company. ;);) It would need to be steel. Thanks...I will keep in mind and see if anyone can point me to a local dealer first. Muchly appreciated.
