Problem solved. @RobinHood made these for me and they fit like a glove—just enough overlap to hold the sleeve w/o interfering with sanding. As it turns out, they even fit perfectly inside one of the on-board storage slots designed for the spindle bases. It's like it belongs there.... First pic...

Actually, for the price they are one of the few affordable shop tools around. Not industrial grade and you can't lean into them. But as the old saying goes—if you let the tool do the work they are OK. In my case, it's a real change of pace not to need a crane to move it.
