Toto and Kohler still make cast iron tubs. Not sure how comfy they are though, but they sure are heavy.

    Terrible QC - Toilet Edition

I just open them up at HD and mostly check that the trap is glazed. We did have one that couldn't keep the siphon, but American Standard sent me a complete new one to my door almost next day. At $320 a toilet, they must have to make them for peanuts. I've also had defective Duravit toilets from...

    Terrible QC - Toilet Edition

I put a lot of those toilets in because, when the quality is good, it's hands down one of the most reliable big flushing non smearing toilets out there. We do often have to go through 3-4 before getting one that's properly glazed...

CA-ON Bentone 34 or other “organophilic” clay?

I’m interested too. Which supplier did you get it from? @Tobho Mott is looking for some too. I’ve only played with a small sample qty. and used it to rejuvenate my petrobond. To be honest @Ogmios Forge I’d be more worried about the fumes coming of the k-Bond or Petrobond. I’m about ready to...

    Hello from Toronto!

Great to see you here! I hold you entirely responsible for getting me hooked on casting bronze and the change in trajectory my work has taken. Thank you, seriously. As for the Bentone let’s talk. It’s been a while since I checked but there are a few places and it might be that a group buy might...

Best Product to Use for Fillets and Curves in a Simple Aluminum Pattern

I second the JB weld idea, except I use Oatey fixit stick in the plumbing section. At $10 for a big stick it works well. It’s. Putty you cut off what you need, knead it, and it sets faster than most of the JB weld stuff. Probably because it has a lot of BPA in it…it sets quick and sands/machines...

    Hot rolled and pickled

Has anyone tried citric acid for mill scale? I did use the hydrochloric/muriatoc acid with a neutralizing bath after but a bit of a pain.
