    Upgrade on lathe and mill.

    Your first concern is location, availability of machines in your area. The range of swing is huge, a lot of difference in a 12 inch ,machine and a 20 inch lathe, ie weight and room needed.

    I made one from cold rolled for my mill. Actually it was made from 2 short pieces welded together, nothing long enough for a one piece rod.

    Chipping slag

    The scalers we had on the ferry were very loud in use. Used them to clean up rust before painting.
