Tonxy 3d printer - amazon

I bought the 400x400x400 version years ago. X5SA I think. I have pretty much replaced everything but the power supply, frame, bed heater and stepper motors. I changed it to linear rails for the x and y axis. Controller is now a duet 2 wifi. Extruder is a microswiss all metal extruder with a e3d v2 hot end. They are a cheap 3d printer and yes out of the box they work. You should think of it as a almost never ending upgrade project.

I was looking for the 400x400 version when i saw this one on sale but couldn't find it, not on amazon, not on ali express, not sure if they make the bigger one anymore. Seems like a good starter platform for a never ending upgrade project like you said! see what kind of print speeds a guy can get out of it upgraded, sounds like yours must hum along pretty good with all those upgrades

Its faster than my creality ender 3 v2. It can do 90 mm/s max speed. But it does slow down for the corners. I use it for larger prints. If I want higher quality I use the ender 3 or my resin printer. Check tronxys website. They have all the models on there. By the way there tech support isn't the greatest.

That's quicker than my megax

I'm not to worried about tech support, in my head this is just a parts kit, In time I'm sure I will have 80% of it replaced anyways

It is a good parts kit. And there is lots of support on the web by other users. At least you are already familiar with 3d printers.

I've been wanting to scratch build a larger core xy printer for a couple years, and every once in a while think about just getting one like this and using it for the bones instead of buying everything individually. $220 isn't bad, but I've got a few projects on the go right now that also need money thrown at them. Hmmmm. I wish there was an expiry date on the coupon so one knew how much time the had left to claim it.

Another option for a corexy build is to find a used one that someone has given up on. the frame and stepper motors should be good. Add the parts you want and off you go.

I have a feeling the coupon Is good until they are all sold..there were 6 left after I bought one.

I've never seen a coupon worth 50% before on Amazon, so I have the feeling they are getting rid of whattever stock they have and that's probably it

Yeah, you're right. I just went back and re looked at it and seems likely what is going on. I've never seen a discount that big either.
